What is the dress code/appropriate attire?

We recommend business casual or dressy casual for our meal cruises. Our sightseeing cruises are casual dress. We strongly recommend that people do not wear high-heeled shoes and encourage people to wear solid, non-slip footwear as we are in a marine environment. We do recommend wearing layered clothing as the climate on the rivers can be unpredictable. The Portland Spirit, Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler, Willamette Star and Crystal Dolphin vessels offer fully enclosed dining decks. Cruises aboard the Explorer should be considered a “thrill”-type ride where weather and river conditions can vary dramatically.

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking of any substance via any device or method, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is not allowed on any vessel.

Is the boat wheelchair accessible?

Portland Spirit, Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler, Willamette Star and Crystal Dolphin are wheelchair accessible on the Willamette (lower) decks with certain restrictions. Please address any needs you may have regarding access requirements with your customer service representative when booking, or add a note to your online order.

Public cruises aboard Portland Spirit, Willamette Star and Crystal Dolphin typically run South (upstream) from downtown Portland on the Willamette River to the Milwaukie Basin/Lake Oswego area. The return leg cruises North through downtown. We have links to our Portland cruise routes and their attractions on our Portland cruises page.

Public cruises aboard Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler run west (downstream) to Bonneville Dam from Cascade Locks on the Columbia River, then east (upstream) in the direction of White Salmon/Hood River. Each one-hour cruise travels a different direction; east highlights Wind Mountain and Skamania Lodge while west features the Bridge of the Gods and Bonneville Dam. Stay on board to do both loops at no additional charge (not available for the last cruise of the day). We have links to our Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler cruise routes and their attractions on our Columbia Gorge cruises page.
