Come join our crew at the Portland Spirit. Our peak season starts mid-May through September. We are currently hiring in two locations Portland, Oregon & Cascade Locks, Oregon. Portland Spirit is always looking for positive, self-motivated, energetic, customer service-oriented people with a can-do attitude for a variety of on-board and on-shore duties. All positions require flexible schedule for day, evening, weekends and holidays. Pre-employment drug test required.

Service Crew Responsibilities

All Service Crew will be directly responsible for all related styles of service, including, but not limited to, table side, banquet, and cocktailing. Wine, alcohol and beer knowledge desired. Service crew members responsibilities are diverse but not limited to the following; On-board guest services, food service, interacting with customers, beverage sales, entertainment and gift shop sales. Line handling and deckhand work as well as all vessel set-up and cleaning. Ability to do repeated bending, lifting, climbing of stairs, and extended periods on your feet. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work as a team player. Restaurant or catering background required. Food handlers card & OLCC permit required. Pre-employment drug test and enrolled in random D.O.T. drug testing schedule required.

CRUISE DIRECTORS (Cruise Shift Managers)

Cruise Director are directly responsible for all service crew members (servers, bussers, bartenders and photographers) Must provide strong leadership in this dynamic challenging environment. Cruise Directors responsibilities are diverse but not limited to the following; On-board guest services, food service, interacting with customers, beverage sales, entertainment and gift shop sales. Line handling and deckhand work as well as all vessel set-up and cleaning. Cruise Directors perform host functions on-board vessels, including greeting guests, public speaking, organizing and leading on-board activities. Must have at least 2 years food service and managerial experience. Food handlers card & OLCC permit required.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (Front office position)

We are looking for self-motivated, experienced Customer Service Representative interested in the hospitality and tourism industry. You would be directly responsible for telephone and in-person reservation requests from individual and small group. Excellent customer service telephone skills and computer experience; cash handling and accurate typing a must. Must be available to work day time hours, holidays and some weekends.

MARINE CAPTAINS

100-ton Masters and excellent public relation skills required. Captains position will not be limited to the dinner boats but also be responsible for operation of 40-foot jet boat. Pre-employment drug test and enrolled in random D.O.T. drug testing schedule required.

SENIOR DECKHANDS

Seeking experienced individuals with plumbing, safety, electrical, operations & mechanical knowledge to maintain systems aboard vessels. Pre-employment drug test and enrolled in random D.O.T. drug testing schedule required.

LEAD COOKS/LINE COOKS

Minimum of 1 year of responsible culinary experience preparing, cooking, and serving meals in large quantities in a restaurant or food establishment. Verifiable references and a Food Handlers Card.

DISHWASHER

General cleaning of dishes, kitchen and dining area. Must have flexible schedule; evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Must be dependable. Verifiable references and a Food Handlers Card.
